Smart Safety Strategies for the Real World.

Our goal is to shift how young adults think about their own safety. We provide realistic, proven strategies to help them spot red flags, trust their gut, and avoid dangerous situations before they escalate.

The Student Crime Awareness Video gives young adults the situational awareness they need. It delivers practical strategies to help them stay sharp on and off campus, look out for red flags in the workplace, and avoid dangerous situations.

This was our first video program, released in 1996. Hosted by Dan Whitney, better known as Larry the Cable Guy, younger viewers get locked in from start to finish, delivering a vital message without making it feel like a lecture.

What's inside:

The 3 "A’s" of Personal Safety

We use a straightforward framework to help teens and young adults take control of their own safety:

Attitude:

They are young adults now, which means they are responsible for their own personal safety. We don’t lecture, preach, or micromanage—we just deliver practical advice to help them avoid becoming a target.

Awareness:

It’s about paying attention. Young adults need to read the room and stay fully aware of their surroundings, especially within that high-risk, familiar one-mile radius around home or campus.

Avoidance:

Using situational awareness and basic common sense to spot red flags and completely steer clear of dangerous situations before they start.

Topics Covered Include:

We’d like to extend a very special “Thank You” to the City of Houston Mayor’s Office and Police Department for providing the “Shootings Segment.”
